Mistretta Retires & Axcell Transitions into Role as VP of Sales & Field Operations

09/12/16 ─ After 18 successful years, Eric Mistretta will be leaving Athlon Solutions. Since starting Chemtech Chemical Services in 1998 and working with the company that later became Champion Technologies and ultimately Athlon Solutions, Mistretta is now ready to pursue a new phase in his business career.

“This decision has been difficult and definitely bittersweet,” said Mistretta. “However, I feel the timing is right for me to move on.”

After Chemtech sold in 2010, it was Mistretta’s passion for the company he started and its employees that fueled his continued service with Champion Technologies and Athlon Solutions.

Mistretta enjoyed the challenges and successes of owning his own company. He recently reunited with a former business partner with the chance to become a business owner once again, but in a different field. He will now be venturing into the real estate industry, and he is looking forward to this second chapter in his career.

“Eric has been instrumental in leading Athlon Solutions in the right direction with his business knowledge and experience,” said Tom Amonett, President and CEO. “He will be missed, and we wish him all the best as he pursues his new venture.”

Eric Axcell Transitions into Role of VP, Sales and Field Operations

Transitioning into Mistretta’s VP, Sales and Field Operations role is Eric Axcell, who is currently the VP of Technology and R&D. Axcell has 25 years of experience in the energy services industry, working previously at Champion Technologies and Nalco Champion.
“He is the right person to continue what Mistretta has successfully established,” said Amonett. “Axcell has made significant contributions and led our R&D and Technology groups with tremendous success.”
